How to read NBA odds: moneyline, spread and total

A moneyline is a wager on the game winner. At +150, a $10 winning stake would return $25 including the stake. At −150, a $15 winning stake would return $25. A spread adds or subtracts points: a −4.5 favorite has to win by five or more to cover. A total is based on the combined score: over 220.5 needs at least 221 points.

How to evaluate an NBA pick

Note the market, the price and the time it was posted. A team at −4.5 and the same team at −6.5 are different bets. Look for settled results that include losses and pushes, and avoid judging a service from a few recent wins.

How to compare sportsbook bonuses and referral codes

Start with your state and distinguish real-money sports betting from social or sweepstakes play. Check whether an offer requires a first purchase or qualifying wager, whether credits expire, and whether the original credits can be withdrawn. The offer in your account determines your eligibility.
