NBA Over/Under Explained: What Does Under 245.5 Mean?
On a full-game total, Under 245.5 wins when both teams combine for 245 points or fewer. At 246 or more, it loses.
How do I find Under 245.5?
Open the matchup and look for Total, Game Total or O/U. Select Under 245.5 if it is listed. If you see a different line, check Alternate Totals where available. Verify the odds, whether the market is for the whole game, and whether overtime counts. A team total counts only that team. A half or quarter total counts the period shown.
| Example score | Total | Under 245.5 |
|---|---|---|
| 123–122 | 245 | Wins |
| 124–122 | 246 | Loses |
Over 120 vs. Over 119.5: what changes?
Compare the two lines for the same market. At exactly 120 points, Over 119.5 wins. Over 120 is a push in a standard two-way market, so a standalone wager is refunded. A three-way market with an exact-total option, or a leg in a parlay, can settle differently under the operator’s rules.
| Points scored | Over 119.5 | Over 120 |
|---|---|---|
| 119 | Loses | Loses |
| 120 | Wins | Push |
| 121 | Wins | Wins |
